Instilling sustainable agility requires belief and purposeful engagement from everybody involved. Generating this belief is one of the critical roles of a change agent at any level of an organization. However, all too often change agents fail to connect the goals of agility and the associated practices to the values and desires of the people to whom they speak. As a result, we end up with disengaged participants, unsatisfying implementations, constant unnecessary pivots/restarts, and a questionable value proposition for the overall agile effort. This workshop helps participants explore how we convey agility to potential advocates, partners, and leaders. Participants will inspect their own biases and habits sharing agile approaches through four lenses: the why, the who, the way, and the win. Through the discussions and explorations, participants will recognize their own biases as advocates, better respect where others are on their own journey, reframe that journey in terms of individual and business benefits, and more effectively connect agile practices and frameworks to business needs. Afterwards, the insights and actions from each lens will provide participants with new language and self-awareness they can practice as part of their daily work as change agents.
