Ademar Aguiar is a pragmatic software engineer, early adopter of Agile in 2000, trainer on agile methods, software design, and agile project management, both in academy and industry. He is Associate Professor at University of Porto (FEUP) and Research Coordinator at INESCTEC. Ademar regularly serves as chair of international events, was founder of Agile Portugal Conferences, General Chair of XP 2018, the 19th International Conference on Agile Software Development, and is the Conference Chair for the upcoming PLoP 2021, the 28th Conference on Pattern Languages of Programs. He is co-author of the book 'A Scrum Book: The Spirit of the Game’, by Jeff Sutherland, James O. Coplien, and The Scrum Patterns Group.
