API TEST - Leadership Evolution Structure: How to trick every leader into being Agilests
Description
Come join me in discussing the evolved leadership structure that delivered a 3-year organizational wide initiative in 3-months. We have solved the problem of creating self-organized, product development teams and have identified what it takes to be an amazing leader but in all this time we have not updated the underlying organizational structures used to lead. We continue to use the same hierarchal structure, proposed hundreds of years ago, which perpetuates the negative behaviours and outcomes we transition to Agile to avoid. Many leading companies that used to be beacons of agility have moved away from agility because over time their leadership structures ate away at the work that we, Agilists, do to create an ever improving, complex problem solving, agile environment. Enough is enough. We need something better that allows us to evolve from the antiquated structures of the past into the Agile organizations of the future. If organizations transitioning to Agile are to break through to the next level of exponential growth, we need to establish a leadership structure that fosters continued innovation. We need to create teams where every leader understands and behaves like an Agilist. In this talk, we delve into the concept of cross-functional and cross-departmental leadership teams, an evolution on how to structure organizations to achieve more. We will explore the artifacts and mechanisms leaders can access to achieve their organizational vision and obtain exponential value. This talk will interest senior leaders and Agile practitioners who have: * Struggled to break through within an organization suffering from a "Frozen Middle". * Witnessed middle-management reset self-managed teams to a Command-and-Control structure. * Developed leaders at your organization but now have a glut of different leaders who are unable to move anything forward. * Failed to achieve the exponential growth required for your organization to stay competitive in our complex world.
